Diesel Generators
GensetCentral offers diesel emergency gensets from 3 to 2000kW from Armstrong, Kubota, Mitsubishi, Detroit Diesel/MTU, John Deere, Baldor, Lister Petter, Cummins and others. We also carry Rental Grade Contractor Style Multi Voltage from Baldor and Magnum. We can "parallel" our larger power gen sets to achieve 12mW. We offer best quality generators with an extensive US parts and service support network. Our Electric gen sets come standard with base mounted fuel tank, vibration isolators between engine/diesel gen sets and base frame, battery, battery rack and cables, a circuit breaker to protect the generator from overload and two wire auto start ready controls (Automatic Transfer Switch required for true auto operation).
Why Choose our Diesel Generators?
Diesel generators are probably the most preferred generators in the world - owing to their durability and efficiency. This generator type is also three times more fuel efficient than it’s gasoline counterpart.
Compared to gasoline engines that fire on spark ignition; diesel engines fire on compression ignition to ignite the fuel. Also, air and fuel are pumped into the latter engine type at different cycles. For gasoline engines, the mixture of gas and air are injected into the combustion chamber and then compressed. This can limit fuel compression and overall efficiency.
A diesel engine compresses the air at a much higher compression ratio. It can compress up to ratios of 25:1 as compared to the gasoline engines’ 8:1-12:1 compression ratio.
Traditionally, air cooled and liquid cooled diesel engines constituted the most popular engine types. However, stricter EPA regulations have restricted the use of many air cooled models. The liquid cooled generators on the other hand, are quieter and have a more evenly controlled operating temperature, thereby increasing engine life.
The diesel generator engine is far more superior to its gasoline counterpart when it comes to efficiency and value for money.
For starters, modern diesel engines are quieter and can be more easily maintained than gasoline or natural fuel generators.
These are built robustly and are therefore, more rugged and reliable. There is no sparking upon fuel ignition. The absence of spark wires and plugs also lowers maintenance costs and encourages consistent functioning.
Fuel cost per Watt for a Diesel engine is about 30-50% less than that for natural gas or propane fueled engines.
One such 1800 RPM liquid cooled engine can run for 15000-40000 hours before requiring any major maintenance. A natural gas or propane fueled generator on the other hand, can only function for 4000-10000 hours before needing to be replaced.
GensetCentral recommends Diesel generator engines due to their longevity and low operating costs. Here’s a look at a few of the diesel generator types we offer:
1800 RPM water cooled generator: they can operate without any major maintenance for upto 20000-30000 hours.
1800 RPM water cooled gas generator: this engine can operate up to 6000-10000 hours and is built of lighter duty gasoline engine block.
3600 RPM air cooled gas engines: these engines are normally replaced (not overhauled) after 500-1500 hours of function.
Gas engines burn hotter than Diesel ones and thus, have a shorter life span. Our Diesel generator products are from top rated manufacturers and are suitable for customers with larger residences, industrial or military concerns. They are ideal for long term use for clients seeking prime power of critical emergency power backup.
